Rest in Peace~

Thursday afternoon when I woke up from a restless day of sleep. I got dressed and drove to the vet in Terrebonne to see how Poachie was doing. On the way there I called my grandma and she told me that this morning Poachie didn't look good so Kaiden had said her good bye's and unless he got better she didn't need to go and see him anymore because she was so heart broke. When I got to the vet he was beeing held by Ann. Ann had been working with him the whole week he was there and was very attached to him. He was very weak and could not hold up his head. He flipped his tail when I said his name but he was to weak to respond. I held him for about 45 min talking to him and telling him how much we loved him and needed him to come home. I said a prayer for him to get the strength and come home soon.  We helped him eat and drink but he was unable to hold it down. Ann said that he was a fighter but it was still touch and go if he was going to pull through. I had to go back to work so I said that I loved him and good bye. I drove to my grandmas house which is just down the street and when I got to her house my phone rang. Poachie and laid down closed his sweet brown eyes and passed away. Ann said he had just waited for us all to  say good bye. I cried, but more than anything telling my baby girl that her best friend was no longer with us; that was painful. Watching her big eyes swell up with tears was heart breaking. She asked why, and I didn't have a great answer. I said that he was not sick anymore and that he was in heaven healthy and happy. She asked if he was in "heaven with uncle". I said yes and she smiled and said "uncle will like him." We drove up to the vet to find Ann crying. She gave us hugs and said how sorry she was. She then let us see him. We said a prayer and she placed him in a small white box. As we were leaving Kaiden said she wanted to carry him. She carried him to the car and held him the whole way home. We colored his box with crayons and wrote messages on it. Kaiden wrote his name and her name and then colored a heart. Josh made a cross and Kaiden said good bye. What a hard lesson for a 3 1/2 year old little girl to learn. She is so strong though! So after only 3 short months here on earth Poachie Tolman left us. He was so sweet and we hope that she can find another puppy some day to love her like he did. We love you Poachie.
