Peaches!

Okay so I just realized that this was never published and was in the Draft stage so I thought since I had done all the work to download the pictures I would publish this. I know that it is late but hey better than never right! The sad part of this story is that we never got back to get pears or apples :( But we know that we want to get more done for sure next year!

So this year I wanted to be a little bit more of a home maker than I had ever been. So I got online and read all about how to can fruit and veggies and all sorts of other stuff. So my Bestie Becca and I took a day trip to Kimberly Oregon and picked peaches all day with the kids. Then came home and spent all day in the kitchen making wonderful peaches. I was so proud of us! We canned just over 100 lbs of peaches and had every jar seal on our first try!! Anyway I am excited to go and get pears, apples, green beans, and more peaches in the next week and get more homemade goodies in the pantry. I am also going to take a stab at chili and salsa and maybe stew if I have time!

The peaches sat for a couple days to get completely rip and then we went to canning!
